Director of Visual Arts and Programme / Deputy Director - CHAPTER
Hannah Firth is responsible for exhibitions, residencies, events and publications for the visual and live arts programme at Chapter, a multi-artform arts centre in Cardiff, Wales. She leads on cross-artform programming at the centre, and is also Deputy Director where she works across all aspects of Chapter’s strategic and organisational development.
In 2017 Hannah is Curator / Project Director for Cymru yn Fenis Wales in Venice, presenting 'James Richards: Music for the gift' at the Santa Maria Ausiliatrice. The exhibition is open to the public 13 May - 26 November 2017 before returning to Wales to be shown at Chapter and in Scotland in 2018-19. Hannah was also Curator for Wales at the Venice Biennale of Art in 2007 where she presented a critically acclaimed exhibition of works by Richard Deacon, Heather & Ivan Morison and Merlin James. She is Co-Director of May You Live In Interesting Times: Cardiff’s Occasional Festival of Creative Technology, provides professional development support for a range of organisations and institutions and contributes writing for a range of publications.
Prior to working at Chapter Hannah was Curator at Stills in Edinburgh and Managing Editor for A-N Magazine.
